They drew attention to the oppression in Palestine with art
The curator of the exhibition Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Salimeh Amanjani, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Textile and Fashion Design, 3rd year students (Textile Workshop IV course) and 4th year students (Creative Applications in Garment Design course) aimed to draw attention to the persecution in Palestine with 38 works. Stating that a difficult technique such as waxing-batik was used in the works, Amanjani said, “Our students tried to explain the difficult times in Palestine with this technique. Thank you for your participation in our exhibition.”
Rector Savaş: “It is very valuable to raise awareness on such a sensitive issue”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş expressed his pride in the students' sensitivity on Palestine. Savaş said, “I congratulate you for raising awareness on such a sensitive issue. Unfortunately, disproportionate force has been used in Palestine for more than a year. Unfortunately, not only Israel but also the Western countries that support it are partners in this massacre. In Gaza, children are introduced to bombs as soon as they are born. They target children especially to destroy a generation.”
Rector Savaş emphasized that the leaders of Muslim countries should take a more decisive stance and said, “If other Muslim countries could take as brave a stance as Turkey, the course of this war could have been different. Dear students, I hope that every picture you draw, every brush you touch, will be instrumental in stopping this persecution and create a spark in the hearts of those who create this situation, which is a disgrace to humanity. I sincerely congratulate everyone who contributed to the exhibition.”
