Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş visited SARAR Battaniye Textile Industry and Trade company within the scope of public-industry cooperation and held important meetings on the development of Uşak textile sector.
During the visit, Çetin Çekçek from the board of directors of Sarar Battaniye, Uşak University Technology Transfer Office (UTTO) Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atike İnce Yardımcı and Assistant Coordinator Assist. Assoc. Dr. Fatih Yalçın also took part.
Within the scope of the visit, Rector Savaş mentioned the university's vision of industrial cooperation and gave information about the infrastructure and opportunities offered by Uşak University Leather Textile and Ceramic (DTS) Design Center. Stating that they want to increase their cooperation with the sector, Rector Savaş emphasized the importance of Uşak and regional companies working with the DTS Design Center, which has national and international successes.
Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş said the following during the visit: “As Uşak University, we are very happy to be with our industrialists. With our DTS Design Center, we are conducting important studies that provide the design and innovation support that companies in our country, especially in Uşak and our region, need. Our city has a high potential in the yarn, textile and recycling sectors. In this process, we will continue to contribute to production and innovation by walking hand in hand with the industry.”
Hemp production, which is of strategic importance for Uşak, was also discussed at the meeting. The economic potential of hemp yarn and final products produced from hemp was evaluated and joint work that can be done in this field was discussed.
