A meaningful event was held at Uşak University within the scope of 11 November National Afforestation Day, which was held for future generations to grow up with environmental awareness and for a greener Turkey. In the event, which took place in Uşak University Stadium Terrace area, approximately 400 saplings met with the soil.
Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Birgin, academic and administrative staff and students participated in the sapling planting event held under the coordination of Uşak University Department of Construction and Technical Affairs.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş stated that they are in an effort to leave a more livable environment for future generations by giving the first life water to the saplings. Prof. Dr. Savaş emphasised the importance of afforestation works and drew attention to the importance of creating new green areas. Prof. Dr. Savaş said, ‘This event, which we organised on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, raises environmental awareness. As Uşak University, we are working to leave a green heritage for the future. I would like to thank everyone who participated in the event.’
Students and staff participating in the event also expressed their satisfaction for contributing to nature.
