Within the scope of the 101st Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic, a conference titled “Internal Peace Policy of the Republic: The Reconciliation of the Pashas” was organized.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özav, the speaker Prof. Dr. Hakkı Uyar - Head of the History Department at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Letters, Prof. Dr. Sadiye Tutsak - Director of Atatürk's Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center, invited guests, faculty deans, academicians, administrative staff and students attended the conference held at the Mustafa Kemal Paşa Hall.
In the opening speech of the conference, Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş celebrated the 101st anniversary of our Republic and commemorated all our martyrs with mercy and gratitude, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who fought with sacrifice for the sake of the homeland. Underlining that as a nation that has overcome many difficulties, faced many attacks and foiled many games, they will continue to work and produce together for an independent and strong Turkiye in our new century, Rector Savaş stated that they believe that by improving themselves in every subject and working hard, young people, the architects of the future, will be worthy of our heroes who were martyred for these lands. At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Savaş thanked Prof. Dr. Hakkı Uyar for his participation in the conference.
In her opening speech, Prof. Dr. Sadiye Tutsak, Director of Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution Research and Application Center, said that they are celebrating the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye with joy and pride and continued, "May the souls of all our martyrs and veterans, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who founded the Republic of Turkiye, rest in peace and may their places be in heaven". Prof. Dr. Sadiye Tutsak also stated that the Republic of Turkiye was established with the proclamation of the Republic and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk turned the direction of the state towards modernization and democracy, adding that this point is extremely important.
Prof. Dr. Hakkı Uyar, Head of the History Department at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Letters, spoke at the conference entitled "Internal Peace Policy of the Republic: The Reconciliation of the Pashas". He briefly explained the process up to the proclamation of the Republic and gave information about the cadres who founded the Republic. Stating that Atatürk tried to create an environment of political peace within the country as well as living in peace with the world, Prof. Dr. Uyar said that the leading cadres who were in conflict with each other in the early years of the Republic were gradually reconciled from the beginning of the 1930s.
At the end of the conference, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, presented a plaque of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Hakkı Uyar to commemorate the day.
