The closing ceremony of the "Say Hello to Your Design" social responsibility project carried out in cooperation with Uşak University and Provincial Directorate of National Education was held at Uşak University Vocational School of Technical Sciences.

Uşak University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özav, Director of Vocational School of Technical Sciences Dr. Faculty Member Rıza Kara, academicians, Hasan Kahraman, Branch Manager of Provincial Directorate of National Education, Mehmet Şeker, Board Member of Uşak Quality Promotion and Vocational Education Foundation, which is the project sponsor, School Principals, teachers, students and volunteer students of Uşak University participated in the event.

Within the scope of the project, students from Uşak Özdemirler and Malkoçoğlu Primary Schools visited the Fuat Sezgin Library, the Aircraft Workshop of the Vocational School of Civil Aviation and the Workshops of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences.

Within the scope of the "Say Hello to Your Design" 2024 Social Responsibility Project, which was implemented by the academicians and volunteer students of Uşak University together with the employees of Uşak Provincial Directorate of National Education, students designed and Uşak University students produced. The students who saw the completed designs of their own designs could not hide their astonishment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Uşak University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özav said that he congratulated everyone who contributed to the implementation of such a beautiful project. Prof. Dr. Özav cut a cake and took a souvenir photo with the students at the ceremony.

The aim of the project was for primary school children to be introduced to design, develop motor skills, create a design, transform the design into a product, learn about energy efficiency and Uşak carpets, get acquainted with vocational education, and participate in an exhibition. The project sequentially included activities such as toy design and production titled "Design Yourself, We Make It" under the supervision of Instructor Gökhan Yıldırım, origami activity titled "Design Yourself, Fold Yourself" under the supervision of Associate Professor Gülhan Pınarlık, an event called "Hello to Education" supervised by Professor Murat Başar, jewelry design activity titled "Design Yourself and Wear It" under the supervision of Instructor Şükran Deveci, an energy efficiency event titled "Hello to Energy Saving" under the supervision of Teacher Mansur Pınarlık, sustainability event supervised by Associate Professor Mehmet Şahin, a textile design activity titled "Design Yourself, Texture Yourself" under the supervision of Dr. Gülhan Pınarlık, a career exploration event titled "Let's Get to Know Professions" under the supervision of Instructor Alev Yıldırım, and an event named "Communication in Children" under the supervision of Instructor Zübeyde Kaya.

Within the scope of the project, with the support of Ceyhun Uzun and Şirin Yörük, who work in MEM R&D at the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and with the efforts of academicians from Uşak University, the exhibition titled "Say Hello to Your Design" was opened on 30 May 2024 with the participation of Provincial Director of National Education Halil Yücel and Uşak University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özav. The exhibition included gifts, toys, wristbands, bracelets, and energy saving paintings designed by each student and produced by volunteer students of Uşak University. Miniature carpets and origami artefacts woven by each school class were also included in the exhibition.
