“Sociology Seminars/10 - Student Thesis Presentations” was held by the 4th year students of Uşak University Department of Sociology on June 6, 2024 at Sibel Hişmanoğlu Conference Hall.

The program, which started with the opening speech of Dr. Doğan Hatun, Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, was held in two main and one breakout session.

In the first session titled “Methodology and Field Practices in Sociology” moderated by Ruveyda Şendoğan, Fatma Ünlü presented “Unjust Distribution of Groundwater: The Case of Uşak Koyunbeyli Village", Canan İnan ”From the Perspective of Social Realism: Mahsun Kırmızıgül Films", Eda Meriç ”Second Hand Pleasure: Old Clothes, New Thrills” and Ayşe Demirhan ‘An Investigation on Women's Adoption of Gender Roles in the Context of Body and Power’.

The breakout session was moderated by Ceyda Doğru. In this session, Özlem Mutlu made a presentation titled “Rethinking Motherhood” (a project supported by TÜBİTAK 2209-A).
The second session titled “Thinking Youth through Differences: Intersections, Distinctions, Similarities, Tensions” was moderated by Özlem Mutlu. In the second session, Necla Yazbahar presented “Does the Migration Phenomenon Transform Nationalist Discourse?”, Hacer Okumuş “Does Leisure Time Have Revolutionary Power?”, Altunay Demir “How Does the Future Affect the Present Emotionally?” and Elif Çatı “Does Love Change Everything?”.
