Uşak University Achieves Another Success
The ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report-2024’ compiled by the Council of Higher Education has been released.
Among the Top 20 Universities with the Highest Number of Activities Organised for “Disadvantaged Groups” and the Universities without Disabilities with Highest Number of Awards or Engagements is Uşak University.
Published was the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) “General Report on University Monitoring and Evaluation-2024”. 201 Turkish universities were assessed in the study under the themes “Education and Training,” “Research and Development, Projects and Publications,” “Internationalisation,” “Sustainability,” and “Community Service and Social Responsibility.”
With its efforts to advocate for underprivileged groups in YÖK’s report, Uşak University is among the top 20 universities.
Under “Community Service and Social Responsibility,” Uşak University came in fifteenth among the top twenty universities with the most events planned for underprivileged groups.
-Uşak University remains a prominent institution recognized for its commitment to being disability-friendly.
Furthermore, Uşak University has garnered recognition through the Barrier-Free University Award, Barrier-Free Flag Award, Barrier-Free Programme Order, and various accolades received as part of its commitment to being a Disability-Friendly University. Uşak University has achieved the 13th position among the top 20 universities recognized for the highest number of awards or honours in this category.
Rector Savaş stated, “The projects and activities we implement for disadvantaged groups embody our vision of a university free from barriers.”
Uşak University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş emphasized the significance of the projects and awareness initiatives that Uşak University prioritizes in the realm of social service and social responsibility. Rector Savaş stated, ‘In recent years, our university has distinguished itself not only through academic accomplishments but also through its contributions to community service and social responsibility. The initiatives and endeavors we undertake for underprivileged communities embody our aspiration for a university free from obstacles. The awards we have garnered stand as a testament to our efforts and inspire us to achieve even greater things.
Rector Prof. Dr. Savaş emphasized their commitment to barrier-free education and access from the very beginning of their tenure, stating, ‘We crown these efforts with the awards we have received for the last 6 years.’ As of today, we have been honored with 21 awards, which includes 1 Programme Order. I want to express my gratitude to all our staff, particularly our Barrier-Free Unit Coordinatorship, for their exceptional contributions.
Rector Savaş highlighted that Uşak University will persist in its successful endeavors and will strive to serve the community by engaging with broader audiences.
Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş highlighted that in the ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report-2023’ published last year, Uşak University was recognized as one of the top three universities for ‘Best Development’ in the ‘Amount of Donations to the University’ under the category of ‘Community Service and Social Responsibility.’ Additionally, the university achieved 4th place in the ranking for ‘Distribution of Universities According to the Number of Academic Staff Participating in International Exchange Programmes’ in the category of ‘Internationalisation,’ expressing pride in being featured in this year’s report.

As Uşak University, studies are continuing for its development in every field.
Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş highlighted that the ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report-2024’ released by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) serves as a valuable guide for higher education institutions, advancing the efforts of universities from their current status. He expressed gratitude particularly to YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, YÖK Members, and all those who contributed to the report’s preparation.
