Solar Energy Workshop was held at our university

Uşak University Energy, Environment and Sustainability Application and Research Center and Craft to Art Student Community organized “Workshop on Equipment, Calculations and Innovations Used in Solar Energy Electricity Generation” on December 27, 2024.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Birgin, Energy, Environment and Sustainability Application and Research Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahin, workshop organizing committee, academicians and students attended the workshop held at Mustafa Kemal Paşa Amphitheater.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Birgin made evaluations on the importance of solar energy and the future role of sustainable energy sources. Emphasizing that the workshop created an important platform for sharing innovative ideas and increasing academic-industry cooperation, Prof. Dr. Birgin thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the workshop.

Expert Speakers Shared Their Experiences

The workshop was moderated by Gökhan Yıldırım, Lecturer at Uşak University Vocational School of Technical Sciences and Assistant Director of ENÇES, and the speakers were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Kandilli from Uşak University Department of Mechanical Engineering, Can Türkmenoğlu from Elektro Sistem Elektrik and Fatih Kızılay from Kızılay Mühendislik Elektrik-Project-Taahhüt.

In her presentation on “Photovoltaic and Photovoltaic Thermal Systems in the Light of Current Developments”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Kandilli discussed the technological infrastructure of solar energy systems and the importance of renewable energy today. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kandilli drew attention to the advantages of photovoltaic systems in terms of their environmentally friendly structure, energy efficiency and sustainability.

Can Türkmenoğlu from Elektro Sistem Elektrik talked about field applications and equipment selection in solar energy.

Fatih Kızılay from Kızılay Engineering Electrical-Project-Contracting shared solutions to technical and logistical problems encountered in solar energy projects.

The workshop Ended With An Evaluation Session

The program ended with the “Workshop Evaluation” session after the participants' questions were answered. Participants stated that the workshop was productive and pointed out that similar events will increase awareness in the field of sustainable energy.
