The Cooperation between Uşak University and Teikyo University Expanded

Bilateral cooperation agreements, which included the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine and the Graduate Education Institute, were signed between Uşak University and Teikyo University in Japan.

Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Savaş, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ümit Başar Semiz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Selçuk Samanlı, Director of the Graduate Education Institute Prof. Dr. Murat Kemal Karacan, International Relations Office Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Özgür Tarhan, and Mevlana Institutional Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Tolga Kargın attended the signing ceremony, which was held at the Rectorate Office.

By stating that he is so happy to expand the bilateral cooperation agreements with Teikyo University, Rector Savaş said that “the communications between the two universities which started with the academic relations between Uşak University Department of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Çalışkan and Teikyo University Department of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Member Professor. Dr. Kazutoshi Morimoved to a corporate level with the visit of a delegation from Teikyo University to Uşak University in February 2017.Subsequently, in August 2017, a delegation from Teikyo University headed by President Yoshihito Okinaga visited our University, and the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol and Bilateral Cooperation Agreements were signed between the two universities. Our bilateral cooperation with Teikyo University continued uninterruptedly until 2020, and in this context, four of our students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Graduate School of Science successfully completed their laboratory education at Teikyo University as exchange students. To improve our academic cooperation, I made a return visit to Teikyo University with a delegation from our university in January 2020. As a result of the contacts we have made, we have expanded the bilateral cooperation that has been continuing successfully with our Engineering Faculty and Graduate Education Institute by including our Faculty of Medicine. With the agreement signed for the first time this year between the Medical Faculties of the two universities, student and academic staff mobility will be provided, valid for five years. Within the scope of this agreement, students and faculty members of our Faculty of Medicine will be able to visit Teikyo University for about a month each year and attend 'Teikyo Summer School' organized by faculty members of Teikyo University, and 'Harvard Special Sessions' organized by faculty members of Harvard University. I hope thisnew agreementbrings success to both universities.”
